My Story…

Hello, my name is Adam. I have run Tweaking Optimism since 2014. Initially, I set out to integrate my study of philosophy, psychology, and religion to better help individuals improve their mental life, see the world anew, and develop coping mechanisms to deal with various forms of mental illness. The content I cover here is interesting to me in a professional sense and a deeply personal sense. In each post, I attempt to present concepts that have been so interesting and helpful to me in a fresh and engaging manner.

In conjunction with running Tweaking Optimism, I am training to become a clinical psychologist. If you have watched or read any of my work, you may have noticed that many of the insights I learn from my courses trickle into my writings and videos. Not only am I training to become a mental health professional, but I also have a long and sorted history with mental health issues both personally and throughout my family. Everything I share has been a thought that has served to help me in some critical way in my own life. I find that the work I have set out to do will only become increasingly important. As we are in the midst of a mental health crisis and I can only hope for the future that I am able to contribute to the alleviation of mental suffering either through my words or deeds.

I think that if we take advantage of our opportunities to learn. We will come to a better understanding of the world, lower our intellectual prejudices to old ideas, reduce mental suffering on a global level, and ultimately live with more optimism.
